Description

This giant, nightmarish predatory plant is native to the bamboo forests of eastern Asia. Unlike the Killer Plants of America, this species grows to a much larger size and is considerably deadlier. It uses its huge, spiked branches like enormous clubs to batter its prey to death at close range—and for a more nimble target, the plant may choose to launch its spikes as devastating projectiles. Perhaps its strangest ability is shifting to different sizes, allowing the cactus to camouflage itself as a small, unassuming ordinary plant. Perfect for ambush.

Biologist Nhi Nguyen fell victim to the Killer Cactus as she was researching exotic flora on location. This story did not have a happy ending, as Nhi was never heard from again.
Trivia
-
The unplanned killer plant movie was made using a random, already-uprooted cactus we found over at a Vietnamese temple. Years later, we would return to this temple, and found the exact same cactus, cast aside precisely where we left it in 2011.
