The No Budget Films

Welcome to the best place to watch and learn about the GreatNate98 films!

(Note: Films from 2010-2015 are re-edits, not the originals)

2010 Films

2010 was the year I first started making these movies. It was an early and primitive age for No Budget Films, with special effects that weren't very advanced, low video quality, and simplistic editing done only on Windows Movie maker. No scripts ever. 2010 began with horror films, and branched out to movies about giant creatures as well.

2011 Films

2011 was very similar to 2010, but started to get slightly more advanced. This year saw many Lego stop motions, as this was when my stop motion hobby was at its peak. 2011 was also a transitional time between Windows Movie Maker and PowerDirector, so the editing became improved. Dinosaurs started becoming a popular film topic.

2012 Films

Not many films were made in 2012, but it's still a fairly important year. 2012 was when I first began using the green screen, which opened up a whole new world of opportunity. Explosions also started to appear during this year, and by this time script writing had become the norm.

2013 Films

2013 was a comeback from the sparsely populated 2012 library, with about 14 films under its belt. 2013 saw a small resurgence in stop motion films, and was also a year when re-edits started emerging. In fact, most of 2013's releases were re-edits of previous works. Also, dinosaurs galore! The T-Rex vs Carnotaurus series began during this year.

2014 Films

I believe it was around this point that the popularity of my YouTube channel started going up dramatically. It was another slow year for new videos, but re-edits were common enough, and there were some gems born in 2014. My most popular video to date, T-Rex vs Carnotaurus 2, was created in this year.

2015 Films

This is the year the films really started to get good. The year started off with a few short creature attack sequences (mostly re-edits), but later on I started posting lengthier films such as the popular Dinosaur Attack 3. I learned new editing tricks such as keyframing, and began to cease using copyrighted music, sounds, etc. in my films.

2016 Films

The first half of 2016 was mostly dedicated to cleaning up old films in order to make them free of copyrighted materials, so there were a ton of re-edits released. More focus was put into story and quality, and special effects improved with the purchase of Action Essentials 2.

2017 Films

2017 has a sizable library of films under its belt. Dinosaurs continued to be a common subject, though other kinds of beasts had their time in the spotlight as well--a mutant crocodile, a giant chicken, and an oversized spider. The films continue to have increasingly sophisticated effects, editing, and plotlines.

2018 Films

A productive year which saw the release of numerous shorter videos, such as Dino Duels episodes and a few school projects. The second half of the year saw focus on larger projects such as Return of the Curse of the Shrunken Skeleton (2018), and many small clips were posted building up for the release of the films.

A fresh slate for No Budget Films, starting strong with a bold new horror series right out of the gate, and with the biggest creature film yet looming just within reach...
