Production notes:
Where to begin with this one! First of all, 2012 was the year I discovered the wonder of filmmaking technology called green screens, and I used it generously throughout this film (albeit quite poorly). The original edit of Dinosaur Attack 2 is absolutely SATURATED with shameless use of copyrighted music and images. There’s soundtrack from The Dark Knight, Batman Forever, Disney’s Dinosaur, The Dark Crystal, and others. This amateur mistake would later be fixed in the Improved Edition of 2015, which is more or less clean of any such copyrighted material (still kinda iffy about the roars, though yet another edit would come out the following year to address that issue). Dinosaur Attack 2 opens with a news report on the events of Dinosaur Attack (2011), and at this point there is something unique about this movie—a female actor who is unrelated to me biologically! Indeed, as the teenage boy I was in 8th grade, I literally put up posters around the school asking for a female actor, for little more reason than to talk to girls (this whole film is so shameless). As I mentioned in the production notes of Dinosaur Attack, Dinosaur Attack 2 was originally going to be very different, and it was initially filmed with a completely different plot and setting. That footage may have been abandoned for Dinosaur Attack 2, but later resurfaced as “Dinosaur Attack 1.5”, and still later was integrated into the first Dinosaur Attack for 2015’s re-release. All that did little to affect the storyline of Dinosaur Attack 2, although it may come off as a little funny that the events of Dinosaur Attack 1.5 go unmentioned in the news report scene. Cooper was originally supposed to play a much bigger role in this film, but after being repeatedly unavailable on all our proposed filming days, he was simply dropped from the movie altogether, only to make a small cameo—where he dies. Revenge is sweet.

Production notes:
This video was a school project for history class, and was made over the course of two days. This film is one I am less proud of. It just has nothing much that is appealing about it, aside from maybe Karl fooling around. It’s also one of those rare movies of the time where I get to make an appearance onscreen, but that was probably only because all team members had to participate equally. Roman Emperor Skit also happens to be one of the few videos that our useless film club put together (talk about lazy). Looking back on 2012, I didn’t really get a lot of filming done. There’s Dinosaur Attack 2 and this, while most of the rest of that year’s videos were essentially fluff. It got a little better in 2013.
Fun Fact: This is the only video so far to have featured an actual professional actor—that being Karl, aka Caelan.
Records: Least popular public video (the original edit)
